Gypsy (1962)

this is a biopic/comedy/drama/musical about the life of Gypsy Rose Lee, the most sophisticated stripper who ever lived, her demanding stage mother, (Rosalind Russel) and her (the mothers) attempts at living through her two children.

the plot may sound a bit boring but the movie is very interesting, backed by great performances and music, there is little wonder about why this movie is considered a classic.
it goes for a very long time but after watching it you'll feel happy, you'll feel kinda sad, it depends on how you interpret it. i for one loved it!

this movie is NOT the one with Bette Midler in it, this is waaaaay better, Natalie Wood was the best possible Gypsy and the rest of the cast were well suited to their roles.
it was interesting, funny, well acted, good singing, it was almost the perfect movie. i never liked the Bette Midler version, i don't like Bette Midler, her singings fine i just don't like he movies.

the start is a bit slow but once it gets going you'll love it!
i can't really say anything else, i have no beef with it, i can't say much else at all. just see it, it's great

acting 5/5 Roz Russel's line delivery was great, as was Natalie Woods performance.
story 4/5 slow at first but it gets sooooo good
songs 4/5 i've heard better singing, but the msuic and the way they sang the songs were spot on in my opinion
movie 4 and a half/5

i know that a lot of people like the Bette Midler one, but this movie is clearly superior in acting and story telling.
