RENT

made in 2005, this movie is based on the 1996-2008 broadway play of the same name, it follows a year in the life of 8 friends, 4 of which are suffering from either AIDS or HIV.

lots of songs, which is an instant point from me, it has some humour thrown in but it's serious, due to the issues it deals with. Sometimes the songs can be a bit much but you get over it very quickly when you're taken in by how good they are, good lyrics, nice music and are staged very well.
this is not an ordinary musical, this has a powerful message backed by great songs and acting from all the main charcters. the scenes can stuck with you, and sometimes you'll find your self humming a tune or two. if haven't seen this then i recomend it, it has heart in it and really looks like they were trying to make a good movie, for the most part, they succeeded, but if you don't like serious issues or homosexuality in movies, then this movie isn't for you.

i'm not a critic who gives good reviews to every film she see's, but i just happen to be lucky enough to get movies that i like, most movies i see are ones i like cos i have a good sense.

3/5 for story, it's lacking in some points, 5/5 for music, 4/5 for acting.
4/5 all up
